Nintendo’s annual profit has dropped for the first time in six years, since before it introduced its Wii home console, after cutting the price of the unit to $199.
The Japanese company is forecasting more tough times ahead, but is putting a lot of stock in its upcoming 3-D handheld system. They face competition from Microsoft and Sony, which plan to introduce 3-D gaming on their Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles; their version will require special glasses while Nintendo’s will not.
