Nintendo annual profit falls for the first time in 6 years

Gaming Nintendo

Super MarioNintendo’s annual profit has dropped for the first time in six years, since before it introduced its Wii home console, after cutting the price of the unit to $199.

The Japanese company is forecasting more tough times ahead, but is putting a lot of stock in its upcoming 3-D handheld system. They face competition from Microsoft and Sony, which plan to introduce 3-D gaming on their Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles; their version will require special glasses while Nintendo’s will not.
