PHOENIX – Our favorite racing game is coming to our mobile phones, and we have the inside scoop!

Nintendo announced last year their new Mario Kart Tour, a new free mobile app. It was predicted to be released in March of 2019 but was delayed until the summer of 2019.

They recently released the game to Android users in the U.S. (Ed: in a closed beta).

The game appears to control the speed of the car automatically, but the direction you go is controlled by dragging your finger from left to right on the screen. Plus, each course only has two laps.

The courses and characters are very similar to the ones you would have encountered in any other version of the game. For example, you can drive on Toad Circuit as Mario or Luigi’s Mansion as Donkey Kong.

Each player picks a driver, a cart, and a glider. Then you compete against seven other players from all over the world.

You can collect stars for completing races which will get you gifts and green gems, the currency of Mario Kart Tour. Using this you unlock new drivers, karts and you guessed it, gliders.

Each character can unlock different bonuses and powers.

Overall, it seems very similar to the original style of the game but now you can play it anywhere you go! CW6 KASW
