GateWorld reports that Cheyenne Mountain Entertainment, the Mesa-based developer of the recently released third-person shooter Stargate Resistance and the long-delayed MMORPG Stargate Worlds, is on the verge of collapse.
The article mentions recent developments such as how the company fired its chairman and CEO and filed for Chapter 11 days after Resistance launched and is now under the direction of a court-appointed receiver.
Among new developments in the article is a news release pointing out that the company is faced with losing its office space at the end of the month and “currently has no employees and less than $10,000 in the bank.” Game development has ceased, but the only title to make it to market, Resistance, appears to be safe as Fresh Start Studios has been formed by former CME shareholders to keep it running.
But Cheyenne Mountain remains in court over a leadership dispute and its ongoing bankruptcy.
