As the release of the next iteration of the coveted Halo video game series looms ahead in November, 343 Industries released their live-action Halo web series via the MachinimaPrime YouTube channel today.
The series, dubbed Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn, follows a young recruit named Thomas Lasky as he trains for war at a prestigious United Nations Space Command military academy.
The first episode starts ordinarily enough with Lasky being thrown into a battle situation and ignoring orders from his commanding officers. As the episode progresses, we find out more about Lasky’s troubles beyond his training grades and get a nice set up for the next episode, which hints at more action sequences.
The production has a nice quality about it, with every cadet dressed in UNSC logo’d clothing and staple props from the games such as the default pistols and a Warthog. So far it’s coming off with a big Starship Troopers feel, but hopefully it picks up with future episodes.
