Electronic Arts dropped a bomb during its quarterly conference call today, and it’s a welcome one: Dead Space is coming to the Wii.

According to Kotaku, the game will be available later this year.

The first-person shooter/survival-horror game was released for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC last fall.

Dead Space mixes shooting, RPG and adventure elements into a thrilling sci-fi horror story where you must eliminate an alien presence on a derelict mining ship. Using weapons like the laser cutter and flamethower in zero gravity looks fun as hell, but you’ll have to take out mutant enemies in a strategic way or you’ll find yourself, well, dead.

  1. Wii owners should be very happy about this. A fantastic game – one of the best of 2008. It’ll be interested to see how they utilize the Wii Remote with the “strategic dismemberment” gameplay.
