Bigpoint has announced the development of Battlestar Galactica Online, a massive roleplaying game based on the Syfy series. It will launch in the fall exclusively on Syfy.com for 30 days, and will be playable right in your Internet browser.

The press release, reprinted by Pop Culture Zoo, describes the game as “a tactical space combat and adventure MMOG.” Players will be able to choose their affiliation in the game, from ragtag human refugees to the Cylons they’re fleeing after the destruction of the Twelve Colonies.

Syfy’s Battlestar Galactica, a re-imagining of the late-Seventies space adventure series of the same name, concluded its four-season run on Syfy just under a year ago. A more down-to-earth prequel series, Caprica, is now in its first season on Friday nights.

  • I heard that game starts off really, really good, but by the end you just can’t wait for it to be over.
