Capcom has announced their will be a new opponent for the arcade version of Street Fighter IV. Akuma, a fan favorite who first appeared in Super Street Fighter II Turbo in 1993, will be an unlockable character in the upcoming game.

Akuma means “demon” in Japanese and this guy lives up to his name. He has brought me a world of hurt in the past and will surely do the same when Street Fighter IV is released on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC sometime in early 2009.

“We’re not ready to say how you access him just yet in the arcade, but rest assured he’s in there,” says Capcom.
