The new membership service will be cross-platform, compatible with Nintendo’s own hardware as well as with PCs, tablets and smartphones.

Not much is known yet about Nintendo’s new NX hardware, but if the company has learned anything about marketing it’s likely to be a home console that breaks away from the Wii family entirely to chart a new destiny. Oh, and this is important: It will support the Club Nintendo heir that Nintendo is developing with DeNA.
As for Nintendo’s long-awaited debut on mobile platforms, this will take the form of new gaming apps that use Nintendo’s characters and are tailored to the capabilities of smartphone and tablet operating systems, rather than ports of existing titles.
