‘Weird Al’ Yankovic to perform Aug. 12 at Phoenix’s Celebrity Theatre

'Weird Al' Yankovic 'The Saga Begins'Pop-culture musical parodist “Weird Al” Yankovic will perform Aug. 12 at Phoenix’s Celebrity Theatre. Tickets are $35-$55.

Phoenix New Times’ Up on the Sun blog says it’s the first time in more than a decade that he’s appeared in the Valley outside of the Arizona State Fair, and that a live-action feature film project he was working on with Cartoon Network appears to be DOA.

Below you can watch Yankovic in one of my favorites of his weird works, “The Saga Begins,” a send-up of Don McLean’s “American Pie” that riffs on Star Wars: Episode I — The Phantom Menace.
