It’s Second Friday, and that means once again Evermore Nevermore will be exerting its eldritch influence over downtown Mesa.
This time, “Steampunk Street III” is the monthly street party’s theme, revisiting the popular style of gizmos that never were, as a host of technologically advanced Victorian contraptions and characters descends upon the segment of Main Street between Robson and Macdonald.
To get a taste of the mechanical manifestations you will encounter, check out Mandy Zajac’s article in today’s East Valley Tribune, and fire up the time machine for a look back on some images from April’s Steampunk Street II.
And you can also enjoy a presentation of “speculative history” and historical fact compiled by Evermore Nevermore, in which the downtown curiosity shop links Mesa, the ancient Hohokam who lived here and H.G. Wells in a vast cosmic conspiracy that all comes to a head on 11/11/11.
