Star Wars Celebration is going where it’s never gone before.
After taking a hiatus in 2018, the official Lucasfilm fan event will land in Chicago’s McCormick Place April 11-15, 2019. Tickets go on sale June 5 at StarWarsCelebration.com.
The untitled Star Wars: Episode IX is set to be released later in the year — Dec. 20, 2019 — so you can certainly expect some exciting announcements and guests will be in the works for Star Wars Celebration 2019. (No guests have been announced yet, however — so stay tuned.)
The first Star Wars Celebration took place in 1999 in Denver ahead of the release of Star Wars: Episode I — The Phantom Menace. Subsequent events have hit Indianapolis, Los Angeles, London, Japan, Germany and Anaheim. The last instance, in April 2017, took place in Orlando, where the convention had also been hosted twice before. Nerdvana was there last year with live coverage of the Star Wars Rebels Season 4 panel, where it was revealed the animated show was ending, and more.
