MaricopaCon is set for Aug. 3-4 at the Mesa Convention Center, and the gaming convention is seeking crowdsourced funding through Kickstarter to make it an event to remember. The convention will include board games, card games, tabletop wargaming and roleplaying games for all tastes and ages. It’s being spearheaded by Jason Youngdale with help from many other game coordinators with decades of experience planning and running local conventions.
The goal is $3,100 in Kickstarter funding, with various special bonuses according to pledge levels. Youngdale was co-chair for Conflagration last year in Tempe, gaming director for LepreCons 36 and 37 and CopperCon 30 and chair of MaricopaCon 2010 and 2012.
