Fans of Star Wars and Phoenix Coyotes hockey are in for a treat Nov. 27 when Jobing.com Arena hosts a special Star Wars: The Clone Wars theme night for a game against the Anaheim Ducks.
Clone troopers will invade the venue, which will offer a Star Wars backdrop for fun photos and giveaways, including Hasbro’s General Grievous Lightsaber and R/C Hailfire Droid.
Before the game, live music and project table where fans can create Star Wars and/or Coyotes signs will keep them busy — and Star Wars costumes are encouraged. Elements of the Saga will be scattered throughout the game presentation.
“We’re going to bring Star Wars and Star Wars: The Clone Wars to life and really have fun with this throughout the night,” said Coyotes vice president of marketing and communications Jim Brewer. “The giveaways, the music, the clone troopers, it’s all part of creating a fun family experience on a great Thanksgiving weekend night.”
The Star Wars: The Clone Wars Takeover is also a Coyotes Family Fun Pack night, with ticket packages including four tickets, four hot dogs, four drinks and four passes to Sea Life Arizona starting at $99. Plaza activities will begin at 4:30 p.m. with Arena doors opening at 5 p.m.
“We are thrilled to partner with Cox to bring the Star Wars: The Clone Wars Takeover event to the Valley,” said Gary Brockman, vice president of network marketing and operations for Turner Network, owners of the Cartoon Network. “This event always delivers fun activities. The clone troopers are rock stars, always drawing huge audiences for their appearances. It’s a prime example of the power of the Star Wars brand, and its appeal to everyone of every age.”
