Out of the Watchmen panel at last week’s New York Comic Con comes word of many fans’ worst fears being realized in long-awaited film adaptation of the graphic novel.
OK, so their worst fears might have been that the movie would never be released due to the squabble between Fox and Warner Bros. But this ranks up there.
We apparently now have confirmation that the giant, squidlike psychic (and fake) alien menace that decimates half of New York in the graphic novel’s climax has been written out of the script, and that some other McGuffin will be used to lure humanity away from the brink of total self-destruction.
