Valley comics chain open 7 a.m. Wednesdays for new releases

Atomic Comics has started opening at 7 a.m. on Wednesdays so that early bird collectors can get their fix ASAP.

Owner Mike Malve explains on the stores’ official website that his staff was already coming in early to get subscription boxes ready for eager weekly visitors.

“So it just made sense to open the doors to the public at that time,” he said. “We know we have a lot of customers who may work graveyard shifts or just can’t wait until lunch break to find out what’s new this week for books, so opening at 7:00 allows people the option of stopping in earlier in the day.”

The local chain has stores at Southern Avenue and Country Club Drive in Mesa, Chandler Fashion Center, Paradise Valley and Phoenix’s Metrocenter.
