Millar has at least one movie that’s Wanted

The trailer for Wanted, a movie based off of the comic book series by Mark Millar and J.G. Jones has recently been released. The film stars Angelina Jolie, Morgan Freeman, James McAvoy and a whole lot of bullets. It appears that the movie has taken a few detours from the source material, replacing world-dominating super-villains with a band of assassins.

Hopefully, Wanted will take the sting out of the denial of Millar’s recent efforts to script the next Superman movie.  Despite being one of the best and most popular comic book authors out there and offering to write the movie for free, it was not to be.  Apparently, his work with rival publisher Marvel has rendered him unfit to work with DC properties.  Politics wins out again, while fans lose out.  This is the same reason we never get to see good Marvel vs. DC crossovers anymore, like Superman vs. Thor, Batman vs. Captain America, Green Arrow vs. Hawkeye, Aquaman vs. Namor or Lex Luthor vs. Doctor Doom.  (If you’re scoring at home, the winners would be Thor, Batman, Green Arrow, Namor (unless the battle was fought in the water, then Aquaman would win) and Dr. Doom.)
