Marvel's 80th anniversary comic revival

PHOENIX – Marvel Entertainment will celebrate its 80th anniversary in 2019 by reviving two special titles.

The company released additional details about its impending celebration at New York Comic Con. Two special titles, Invaders and Marvel Comics Presents, will be reintroduced in January to commemorate the company’s founding.

Both Invaders and Marvel Comics Presents are revivals of previously released titles and feature plots set in the 1940s, but neither are authentically part of the company’s golden age material.

Invaders, created in the 1970s, features characters from Marvel’s 1930s and 1940s creations. Meanwhile,Marvel Comics Presents was created in the late 1980s and early 1990s as a biweekly anthology title featuring characters like Wolverine, who debuted in 1974.

Both titles were introduced along with a number of future revival titles, including Journey Into Unknown Worlds, War Is Hell, and Crypt of Shadows.
