Samurai Comics in Phoenix says the store was damaged by lightning in Monday night’s monsoon storm.
“The lightning hit the pole next to the store, splitting in half and catching the street on fire,” according to a Facebook post by staff.
The location at 1602 E. Indian School Road was without power and closed for repairs for much of Tuesday, but reopened with power before the end of the day.
Samurai’s Mesa and Glendale stores remained open.
Owner Mike Banks said the store was working on a way to fulfill pull box requests ahead of Wednesday, which is when new comics become available.
