Phoenix Comicon is hosting a film festival and taking submissions through April 1. For those struggling to finish their projects, organizers have arranged a short film workshop 1 to 4 p.m. March 20 at Bookmans in Phoenix, on the northwest corner of 19th and Northern avenues. Local video blogger Clintus McGintus will lead the event, which is free and provides access to a limited number of cameras for instructional purposes.
He’ll teach how to film a fight scene, shoot dialogue, establish flow in your film as well as the basics of editing and lighting. The first two hours will be instruction, with the rest of the time reserved for practice. Comic artists will be available to help come up with ideas for a short film.
For more information, visit the Bookmans event page or RSVP on Facebook.
Phoenix Comicon will be Memorial Day weekend, May 27-30, at the Phoenix Convention Center.
