This costume alone can stop a bullet cold. Entertainment Weekly has posted Warner Bros.’ first look of Adrianne Palicki (Friday Night Lights) in full Wonder Woman getup for the NBC reboot of the 1975 series The New Adventures of Wonder Woman.
Set to air in September, the reboot is directed by Jeffrey Reiner (who also directed Friday Night Lights) and stars Cary Elwes (The Princess Bride) as Henry Demeter and Elizabeth Hurley (Austin Powers) as Veronica Cale. The tone of the pilot is reportedly more serious than the original, in which the Amazon heroine’s alter ego Diana Price is a corporate executive by day, vigilante by night. But of course, her lasso of truth, bullet-deflecting cuffs and invisible plane will still make an appearance.
So what are your thoughts on her new look? I’m digging the pants and the blue boots, actually. But the redesigned headpiece does nothing for me.
I was saving this for my memoirs, but here goes. BURNING CONFESSION: As a young boy who enjoyed the “Wonder Woman” TV show starring Lynda Carter, I chipped my tooth on the counter at Taco Bell while twirling around the way Diana Prince did when transforming into Wonder Woman.
