Yahoo movies has the trailer for Hellboy II: The Golden Army up. The sequel to the 2004 movie is again written and directed by Oscar nominated director Guillermo del Toro (Pan’s Labyrinth, Blade II). Ron Perlman, Selma Blair, and (the voice of) David Hyde Pierce are also returning. Hellboy II is slated to open July 11; just one more reason it’s going to be a great summer to be a geek.

del Toro is a huge Hellboy fan, so I’m really looking forward to this one. He and writer/artist Mike Mignola are very much in tune with the character. I dug the first film, but this one looks like it’s going to up the ante even more, providing Hellboy ample chances to do what he does best: Smash monsters!. And unless my eyes deceive me, it looks like the cast of the B.P.R.D. will be expanding to include Johann Kraus, the bodyless spirit medium!
