Dark Horse is losing the Buffy and Firefly comics license to Fox

Comics Television Top story

This fall, it’s the beginning of the end of an era when the last Dark Horse Comics based on and continuing the Buffy the Vampire Slayer TV series come out. The comics license for the Buffy-verse, as well as Joss Whedon’s other genre hit Firefly, reverts to Fox after that.

There’s a TV reboot of Buffy, at least, on its way, and the studio wants to bring the associated comics back home, it seems.

Whedon himself reflects on the “decades”-long relationship and its grand finale, as well as what may lie ahead, in an interview with Comic Book Resources
