‘Charmed’ to weave its spell in comic book form

Comics Television

CharmedStop me if you’ve heard this one before: A defunct WB television series about powerful female role models battling the forces of darkness is coming back as a monthly comic book.

Sure, you might say it sounds like Buffy the Vampire Slayer. But this time it’s the wonderful witches of Charmed doing a re-appearing act.

The continuing adventures of the Halliwell sisters — Phoebe, Page and Piper — will debut with Issue #0 in June and #1 at San Diego Comic-Con in July, according to a post on Atomic Comics’ blog. It will be written by Paul Ruditis, the author of several Charmed tie-in novels, and local comics scribe Raven Gregory, with interior art by Dave Hoover.
