Channing Tatum joins the X-Men film franchise as Gambit

NewgambitAccording to The Hollywood Reporter, White House DownChanning Tatum will debut as Gambit in 2016’s X-Men: Apocalypse, to be followed up by a standalone movie featuring the cagey, Cajun mutant.

Laura Shuler Donner confirmed the casting, for which Tatum has campaigned for some time.

Taylor Kitsch played the character in 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
