Anne Hathaway (The Princess Diaries, Alice in Wonderland) has been cast as Selina Kyle, Catwoman’s alter-ego, in The Dark Knight Rises, the highly anticipated follow-up to Christopher Nolan’s Batman Begins and The Dark Knight.
Warner Bros. also announced Wednesday that Tom Hardy (Star Trek: Nemesis, Inception) will play raging strongman Bane, also known as “The Man Who Broke The Bat” in DC Comics 1993′ “Knightfall” storyline.
Hardy’s involvement had been known for a while, but popular speculation pegged him to play mad scientist Hugo Strange.
