The official trailer for the AMC zombie series The Walking Dead has gone live, along with the date the long-awaited adaptation of Robert Kirkman’s black-and-white comic will premiere: Oct. 31.

The series premiere — the centerpiece of AMC’s “Fearfest” marathon — will clock in at 90 minutes, and the season will comprise six one-hour episodes. I can’t embed the trailer here, but you can watch it at io9 or GeekTyrant. It’s the same one that was shown to fans last month at San Diego Comic-Con.

The Walking Dead, AMC’s first wholly owned original series, stars Andrew Lincoln (Love Actually), Jon Bernthal (The Pacific, Ghost Writer), Sarah Wayne Callies (Prison Break), Laurie Holden (The X-Files, The Shield) and Jeffrey DeMunn. It’s directed by three-time Oscar nominee Frank Darabont (The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile).
