skrull tight crop

Skrulls have invaded Earth. The deadly race of alien shapeshifters somehow managed to infiltrate the superhuman world and take over at least two hero’s identities.

The first reveal was in New Avengers #31 when “Elektra” was killed in battle and transformed into Skrull form. Since then, every Avenger has been thinking each other is a Skrull. The second shocker was in last week’s New Avengers: Illuminati #5 when “Black Bolt” exposed himself as a Skrull, saying “This world has been taken from you. As it was written, it is now done.”

Of course that means there are more Skrulls on the way, some of whom have been posing as superheroes for a long time. Who are they? What do they want? Can the post-Civil War superheroes sort out their differences and defeat such a dire threat? All will be revealed in the new Secret Invasion series.
