Fun Find Fridays is my series on the strange comic book related paraphernalia I’ve found at comic book shows, antique shops, swap meets, or buried in my closet.
Fun Find Friday returns with a series celebrating Amazing Spider-Man #700, starting with this book published by Merrigold Press in 1977. First of all, it was only 50 cents at Goodwill on a half-off Saturday, so I had to check it out. Written by Donna Kelly and illustrated by Jim Mooney, Mike Esposito, and George Roussos, this tale features Spider-Man in a week-long adventure battling different color-themed criminals. This final page is a solid summary of Spidey’s daily slugfests, and I presume the final appearance of the likes of “the Yellow Yahoo” — although, who knows which villains writer Dan Slott will dust off for the Superior Spider-Man?
