Join me on a quick recap on the last few weeks of Blizzard news!

Over the holiday season not a lot happened each week, so we skipped a few weeks of Blizzard Blitz, but now that everybody is getting back to work we will be back to regular weekly updates!

Diablo 3 – Now that Season 4 is over we are getting our first looks at Season 5, Patch 2.4.0, and the new Item & Sets which are ready to come out this Friday!!

HearthStone – I hope you all participated in the Gift Exchange Tavern Brawl over the holidays!  Did you miss out on getting the card back from the event?  Make sure that you get the new card back from the January 2016 Ranked Play Season!!  Interested in the tournament side of HearthStone?  Then you probably want to check out this schedule of events and then get ready for the TeSPA Collegiate Championship Finals on January 31st!

Heroes of the Storm – Have you enjoyed Winter Veil this year?  I know I did!  Getting the extra stimpacks helped me get Zagara to 10 and Chen might get there today or tomorrow too!!  There are just a few days for you to get your stimpack too if you haven’t reached either of the 15 or 50 games mark yet!  Then check out the hero page for Lunara and the Patch Notes from a few weeks ago with Zagara being reduced in price to only 4000 gold!  There have also been some matchmaker improvements which is the first revision so far, and it seems like there are several more changes coming from how oddly the matchmaker comes up with teammate levels and roles.  Did you download the new replay and observer UI yet?  Make sure you get the latest version and see what new features it has!  While it is available you should pick up the Cloud 9 mount and check out the Weekly Sale featuring Tyrael and Zeratul if you didn’t buy them all during the big holiday sale!!

Overwatch – The theatrical teaser has come out!  There was even an update from Jeff Kaplan on the developer state of affairs!!  You can also enter a contest for free Overwatch stuff!

StarCraft 2 – Did you get to double your experience and enjoy extra tournaments during the holidays?!?  How about take a crack at the game after the latest Patch Notes which brought with them a new Co-op map and Karax as a Commander (this is set to change in the future as Blizzard will be charging for future Commanders!).  If you are a fan of helping Blizzard test out their changes, check out the latest Balance test map for some potential updates to several different units!  There are a lot of changes coming up for the World Championship Series so check them out and get ready for a whole new year of fun!  Rock the Cabinet in the Arcade, play the new games, and vote for your favorites for the chance at prizes!!

World of Warcraft – Read the Winter Veil Carol (presented by Smokywood Pastures) in parts one, two, three, four, and five!  Did you give your letter to Greatfather Winter or ring in the New Year?  How about take part in the poll for Winter Veil, New Year’s Resolution, and your favorite zone!  What about finding out about Towelliee or Tamplier from the Community Spotlight?  Then several Hotfixes that didn’t seem to have much in them.  Want to see what PvP looks like in Legion?  I think you do, as this is a whole new system being implemented which seems like a positive change and interesting for people that PvP a whole lot!

Did you miss the Warlords of Draenor special items from the Digital Deluxe or Collector’s Editions?  Well you get another chance!  Find out what is going on in January with the calendar of events and don’t miss out on the Northrend Timewalking!

Twitter Question of the Week – It has been the holidays so I haven’t reached out to anybody from Blizzard because they have been enjoying the time off, and the feature will return for 2016!

Rusty SchmidtRusty Schmidt has been into gaming since the family had to get a second Atari 2600 so everybody could play at once and interested in computer gaming since playing Math Blaster and The Oregon Trail all the way back in 5th grade. Later he found the original Diablo and StarCraft games to get hooked on Blizzard games and eventually stopped playing SNES games trading them for PC games because of the online persistence of worlds like SWG and WoW.
