Blizzard Entertainment

The recent StarCraft 2 patch has opened up the Legacy of the Void prologue missions for everybody!

I am going to start blaming the Blizzard Release Effect, in addition to probably BlizzCon preparations, on some slower news cycles but we’re going to have a Blitz this week anyways because I know there are probably several items of interest to you this week!!

Diablo 3 – Remember how I just said there were probably items to interest you?  Yeah, maybe not so much for Diablo 3 this week since the only blurb was about a PTR stress test that happened midweek, but the comments say there is a +1000% Legendary buff so it could be worth checking out if you wanted to see great drops.

HearthStone – Check out the September Ranked Play standings, what the HearthStone Tavern will be doing at BlizzCon, and who just won the World Championship Americas!

Heroes of the Storm – With the latest Patch which was released this week we have new Patch Notes, the totally awesome Lt. Morales hero from StarCraft 2, Marshal Raynor bundle in the shop, and the Weekly Sale featuring Nova and Stitches!  If you are interested in the next new hero Artanis, make sure you pre-order the StarCraft 2 expansion Legacy of the Void so you can get early access to the hero a week early!  Then see the September leaderboard to see who was in the top 200 for Hero and Team Leagues!

StarCraft 2Patch 3.0 is alllllive!!  That means the Whispers of Oblivion prologue missions are now available for everybody!!  Of course there are still Balance Updates happening, new lore with the Perdition’s Crossing story featuring Marshal Jim Raynor, and also thanks from Blizzard for testing out Automated Tournaments for a few players!  I mentioned it before, but make sure if you have pre-ordered Legacy of the Void you try out the Heroes of the Storm version of Artanis since you’ll get him for free and Heroes is free anyways too!!

World of Warcraft – There were some minor Patch 6.2.2 Hotfixes, an Apexis Crystal Bonus this weekend, and a poll about what dark places you enjoy in WoW!

Twitter Question of the Week – I GOT AN ANSWER (even if it didn’t matter :} )!!!  Q:  @StarCraft @BlizzardCS If I pre-order this from @BestBuy will I get a code so I can get the prologue missions early, or just beta access?  A:  Just Beta access, friend. ^JH  Of course the next day the prologue missions I was worrying about were given out free to everybody, but it was awesome to get a reply to know that BlizzardCS is out there and replying to tweets!

Rusty Schmidt has been into gaming since the family had to get a second Atari 2600 so everybody could play at once and interested in computer gaming since playing Math Blaster and The Oregon Trail all the way back in 5th grade. Later he found the original Diablo and StarCraft games to get hooked on Blizzard games and eventually stopped playing SNES games trading them for PC games because of the online persistence of worlds like SWG and WoW. Currently a Blizzard Correspondent, he looks forward to becoming a Senior Blizzard Correspondent for Nerdvana some day.
