Blizzard Blitz: May 18th – Diablo 3…now with more cows!

I couldn’t quite believe it, but players in Diablo 3 are experiencing a Cowpocalypse in the game if you listen closely to the Cowspiracy!

An alternate title for this article could have been (and almost was) “Holding Pattern Continues” because there seemingly is not a whole lot else going on in the halls of Blizzard other than ramping up for the release of Heroes of the Storm!  Well, technically not AT Blizzard, but more Blizzard-adjacent, is the release TODAY of the first official pictures from the Warcraft movie (that had it’s release date moved a few weeks ago to June 10, 2016) of Orgrim Doomhammer being played by Rob Kazinsky!  I might be biased, but I think this will give Lord of the Rings a run for the money!

Diablo 3 – Do you remember the cow portal from Diablo 2?  What about the loading text in Diablo 3 that declares “There is no cow level.”?  Well for the game’s 3rd anniversary the developers have given us a new kind of goblin to chase which will take us to a place that does not exist but only for a few short days!  Get a moov on and hunt this critter down!!  Unfortunately I haven’t found the place yet, and it wasn’t even active on North American realms like it should have been for the first few hours either!  I bet I would’ve found it then, if the buff was active!!  :}  I even celebrated with wearing one of my favorite shirts too!

Oh and to further celebrate, don’t forget about the 33% off some items and 20% off all Diablo themed loot!  If you play a Witch Doctor make sure you tune into last week’s Play Your Way Thursday as it has a great breakdown of gear for a killer pet build, including some items I had never seen before but will now be on the lookout for!!

HearthStone – A quiet week in HearthStone-land as there was only this short story about Innkeeper Stonebrew, and a large patch which only had a few card backs and bug fixes!

Heroes of the Storm – Will you be in London, or view the festivities online, for the Heroes of the Storm launch party!?!  Are you surprised that a World Championship has been announced already with the game not even released yet?!  Last week I mentioned Kael’thas was going to be unleashed on the Nexus, but this week was his Hero Week and he even took over Twitter too!  The latest patch that introduced Kael’thas also had a lot of changes for many heroes but also a performance indicator panel which shows different icons based on what kind of issues your machine/game may be experiencing.  Of course no HotS update is complete without the Weekly Sale which will go until Tuesday this week due to the holiday this time featuring Jaina, E.T.C., and Tassadar!

StarCraft 2 – Some very minor changes in the latest Legacy of the Void balance update and a couple of small crash issue fixes in the latest patch.

World of Warcraft – Do you like collecting mounts?  Are you thinking about buying the newest mount, the Mystic Runesaber?  Did you know there are 40 new mounts in the latest WoW expansion and this article goes in depth for a comprehensive review of the topic of mount gathering!?  I haven’t played Warlords all that much with all the other Blizzard games I can spend time on without having a monthly subscription, and I was surprised how many mounts come out of the new feature to WoW: garrisons!  I did not play Pandaria much either, but I could spend quite a lot of time just enjoying these pieces of art from Chaoyuan Xu which are so gorgeous that they look like they came right from the Blizzard internal art department!!

Looking to test the latest content including the newest zone Tanaan Jungle and the new Bonus System?  Well then get on over to the Public Test Realm to lend a hand!  Want to do something different in game instead of playing on the PTR?  Then submit screenshots (or S.E.L.F.I.E.’s) to the Scavenger Hunt giveaway for a chance to win tickets to BlizzCon this year!

Twitter Question of the Week – Q: @BlizzHeroes Any thoughts about allowing the field of vision to be zoomable? As a healer sometimes I feel like I lose my teammates too easy!  A:  In a reoccurring theme here, no answer yet, but this struck me the other day after playing Heroes because I had partners heading off in different directions just outside my camera range and they either would have not ran away the directions they did with a larger view of the field, or would not have died because I didn’t see who needed the most help and went the wrong way!  If Blizzard introduces this as a feature after go-live, I am TOTALLY taking credit for it!  :}
