Pre-order SC2: Legacy of the Void and get instant access to prologue missions before anybody else!

Make sure you get your entries for the BlizzCon contests done before this Wednesday because the deadline ends that day and also don’t forget to use the hashtag #Battle this coming week for your chance at prizes and loot!!

Diablo 3 – As we get closer to Patch 2.3.0 dropping on the Live servers, there is less “fluff” coming out so it’s really no surprise that the only update this week is from the regular Play Your Way Thursday feature this time dedicated to a “spirit-walking” Witch Doctor build.

HearthStone – Last week I mentioned how I thought something big was coming for HearthStone and surprise, surprise there is a big announcement planned for next week in San Francisco which you can also stream live as well!  Then fire up a Samsung Galaxy 6 to get 3 free card packs and the exclusive card back which was “leaked” by Blizzard when we could see all the available card backs after a recent change!!

Heroes of the Storm – Did you see the Leoric Spotlight on this not yet released “hero”?  I think I might have a new favorite character!!  Next, check out the winner of the Ultimate Fan Art contest to see if your favorite won!  I can’t really say which one of the top 3 deserves 1st place more than the other, because they are all fascinating and very intricate!  Did you watch the Round of 8 for the July North American Open yesterday or this morning?  How about learning more about the 8 teams?  Next, get ready to Brawl with the Blues on the 22nd (which may feature Leoric) and look at the Weekly Sale which has Chen and Nazeebo featured PLUS new items in the shop like Tyrael’s Charger and the Archangel Diablo skin!!  Oh, and The Butcher has had his price reduced so now there are NO heroes which cost 15,000 gold anymore!

StarCraft 2 – Legacy of the Void is now available for pre-order!!  Get it now, and you immediately get into the Beta AND access to the prologue missions comprising the “Whispers of Oblivion” mission set!  We don’t know when the game launches, but the pre-order page does say it will come out prior to March 20, 2016 so not only is it coming but they have committed to a date which Blizzard NEVER does until they are absolutely ready for the game to go out.  So now that you don’t have a good reason not to be in the Beta (other than not pre-ordering because you are waiting to pre-order a physical Collector’s Edition like I am) start reading up on the Balance Updates for July 13th and July 16th because not only are you getting the updates from Blizzard but there is a rather passionate discussion in the comment threads from other players as well AND also the Patch 2.5.3 notes too for some minor changes!  Okay, now that we have all of that LotV/Beta stuff out of the way, if you are making (or want to start making) your own Arcade games make sure to enter the Rock the Cabinet contest this year for some awesome prizes!!

World of Warcraft – A crazy idea Blizzard has in development for WoW right now is letting enemy players switch faction to participate in player versus player combat and you can tell how divisive of a decision this is with over 1,200 comments on the post in just 4 short days!  My life in WoW was centered around PvP so I probably don’t have the most unbiased opinion out there, but this seems like something that should’ve been done many, many years ago with a totally different mercenary system setup, or something that shouldn’t be done at all because for many people it is far too late to start playing for the other side after all these years of hatred/combat.  The thing I see as the biggest problem?  I think this will just give opposite faction players a way to get into the other side’s chat channels and spam or spew other kinds of talk which can’t happen across factions right now!  Speaking of faction choices, many might not have realized what choosing a faction meant when they started the game, so along that line of thought let Blizzard know what kind of class you would pick today if you were starting the game over from scratch!

So other than that, what has been going on with WoW this week?  Well the Wrath of the Lich King Timewalking event (which ends tomorrow!) that includes the dungeons Utgarde Pinnacle and The Nexus for those that never got to experience them in the first place, or those that are just looking for some nostalgia to one of the best expansions Blizzard put out for WoW!  Also there are Patch 6.2.1 PTR patch notes which are pretty light because the only changes are those for mercenary and Draenor flying changes but the Patch 6.2 Hotfixes are a lot more extensive with many more changes involving several different areas of the game!!  Did you watch the North American Online Qualifier or the Oceanic Championship Qualifier (Australia/New Zealand) on their road to BlizzCon?

Twitter Question of the Week – Q: @BlizzHeroes Is there planned cadence to your release cycle? Like new map/hero, 2-3 weeks later new skins/mounts, 2-3 more weeks new stuff?  A:  No answer yet, but I asked because they seemed to be preparing for Leoric to be released, but almost at the last minute (from our perspective) they delayed his release even though they followed through on the Spotlight page.  Just seems odd to me, so I figured I’d ask.  :}
