Blizzard Blitz: August 9th – New heroes and old villains are coming!

Blizzard Entertainment

World of Warcraft: Legion was announced which brings an old villain back and new heroes come into Heroes of the Storm!

Make sure you do not miss your chance at winning a prop from the Warcraft movie by participating in this contest!!  Since we’re on the subject of Twitter contests, see who won the #BlizzGC2015 contest!

Diablo 3 – While we are waiting for Patch 2.3.0 to finally get here, you can check out the preview of Adventure Mode and the changes in the PTR patch notes as well!  We may have a clue as to when Patch 2.3.0 might drop as Season 3 is officially scheduled to end in a few weeks and most of the time major patches coincide with the end of Seasons!!  What does it mean to have a final Play Your Way livestream?!?

HearthStone – At gamescom a new mechanism called Joust has been revealed which may take some getting used to, but also check out new cards here and here!!  Want to find out more information on The Grand Tournament?!  Join the Twitch livestream on August 14th to see more cards revealed!  Also, check out the July 2015 Ranked Play Season standings too!

Heroes of the Storm – Not only did a LOT of new heroes and a battleground get dropped during gamescom, we also got to see new skins for them, current heroes, and even a mount or two too!  You would think this would be one of the biggest pieces of news, but in my opinion the introduction of Dynamic Bundling for heroes and skins to let you NOT buy things you already have so you CAN get things you do want is an even bigger deal because I don’t spend money on this game (aside from the Founder’s Pack) and this is probably one of the reasons.  Now that’s gone!  While Seasons aren’t here yet, and all ranks for Hero and Team Leagues are being reset, we do have a big change with the removal of self-made teams for the Team League option of play!!  Probably not a surprise that Illidan and his skin are on sale during this Weekly Sale with the news about WoW:Legion but so is a Murky skin too!  Oh yeah, don’t forget to buy the Novazon skin for the hero Nova which makes her look like a Diablo 2 amazon!!

Welcome to our professional play section of this post for Heroes, and we’ll start out with a review of the North American Open schedule then you can catch up on the results from this weekend’s games as well!  Then learn more about some of the top teams like COGnitive Gaming and Cloud9 Maelstrom in some very interesting interviews!  THEN, combine the last two points for a single post on the Southeast Asia Championship Finals with some small snippets about the teams also!

OverwatchVote for Overwatch in the IGN People’s Choice awards!  Then find out more about new maps Volskaya Industries and Numbani which were released at gamescom in addition to the previously predicted new hero Lúcio who is sound based in attacks and abilities!!

StarCraft 2 – Looking for more ways to play this 5 year old game?  Look no further than the new Allied Commanders mode then!  This sounds like a fantastic way to change how you approach playing the game, and gives you another objective to focus on as well!  Did you enter the #WhyILoveSC2 contest from TeamLiquid?  Find out if you won!

World of Warcraft – The Legion is coming (with a 12th character slot)!  Find out more about this trip down Blizzard memory lane (first Warlords of Draenor, now the return of everybody’s favorite villain Illidan) with more details about the expansion, a developer livestream from gamescom, and insights to the new PvP system as well as the raids Emerald Nightmare and Suramar Palace!!  Comparatively Patch 6.2 Hotfixes seem like such a small detail against the expansion, and I would agree because there did not seem to be a lot of meaty changes in there this week.  Did you get to experience additional pet battle XP this weekend?  Make sure you enjoy it until Monday!  Also, take part in a poll about battle pets too!!

Twitter Question of the Week – Q:  @BlizzHeroes Can you tell us how you see Rexxar changing the game with how he uses his bear in his attack with your internal testing so far?  A:  Nothing, but I am REALLY interested in the answer because I see Rexxar’s bear Misha being a total game changer, but I don’t know HOW it will change it!
