Blizzard Entertainment

Make sure you tune in on Aug. 6 to find out what the next World of Warcraft expansion will be!

This week is perhaps rightfully focused on WoW, but is the lack of other Blizzard updates this week due to internal testing of the new expansion, gamescom, the next major Diablo patch, or even Overwatch alpha testing?  Check out the list of events planned for Blizzard at gamescom too with most of it planned to be streamed as well!  I wonder if we will see a new map or heroes around the Eternal Conflict theme?  Also, make sure you use the #BlizzardIRL hashtag to enter this week’s contest!

Diablo 3 – Looking forward to Patch 2.3.0 and Kanai’s Cube?  Then don’t miss this article/video about the item and how it is an incredible tribute to an incredible Blizzard employee that was lost to us far too soon!

HearthStone – Did you miss the Darkspear card back this month (like I did) and want to make up for it by working to get the Tournament Grounds card back?  Are you ready to buy that 50 pack bundle for The Grand Tournament?!?  Well it is ready to be purchased now!  While we are talking about the new expansion, check out the new game mechanic Inspire!!  I really can’t decide if I feel like I’m getting further behind by not having a lot of cards already, and here is a new expansion which I won’t have many cards of, BUT I could see the new Inspire being really good for my warlock deck if used right.  So conflicted!  There were some small updates this week so check out the Patch Notes to see if you’re being affected by them, like the comments section is talking about mobile issues on several platforms!

Heroes of the Storm – Do you have some friends that have never logged into Heroes?  Then let them know about this promotion that gives them a free stimpack which will give them +100% bonus to XP for a week!  Let’s follow that up with the Weekly Sale with skins for both Tassadar and Diablo and then find out who won the ANZ Championship Finals by checking out the Twitch stream!

Overwatch – Check out the new feature about an individual from Brazil that may, or may not, be the hero Soundquake mentioned in the cinematic trailer last year to see how much work Blizzard is putting into building a world that has a lot of textures!  They even have one of the tracks “Robot After All” which mimics Daft Punk’s Human After All!!  Don’t miss out on some new wallpapers too!

StarCraft 2 – Make sure you log in to SC2 before Tuesday so you can get an exclusive 5th year portrait, and while you are at it make sure you check out this wallpaper for the anniversary!  Then take a picture of your favorite SC2 item and post on Twitter with the hashtag #GG5years for a chance to win some swag!  While I don’t play SC2 ladders or anything like that, I am glad they are banning hackers and cheats when they find them!

World of Warcraft – What will the new WoW expansion be?  Find out via the live-stream at 9 AM PDT on August 6th!  While you take in the Draenor bonus for dungeons this weekend, make that you cast your vote for your favorite dungeon!  Also, check out all of the other events coming up in August too!  There were small changes this week for Achievements and Garrisons in the Patch 6.2 Hotfixes but we also got a new wallpaper to celebrate it too (even if people in the comments are ripping the expansion apart) as well as some more art to the gallery. Don’t forget about the North American Qualifiers for Blizzcon which you can see on Twitch too!  Plus, don’t miss the goodbye thread for Bashiok as he is leaving his position as Community Manager.

Twitter Question of the Week – Q1:  @BlizzHeroes Any thoughts to a WoW style party UI so support/healers can see HP of players in trouble or tanks can see when healers are OOM?  Q2:  @Warcraft Without talking about what the expansion is going to be, can you give us 3 things we might look forward in this the most?  A1&2:  Nada.  Good questions though right?!?
