The Star Wars roleplaying game license, abandoned earlier this year by Hasbro’s Wizards of the Coast imprint, appears to have a taker. But we don’t know who it is.
We do know who it’s not: Paizo, Mongoose, Margaret Weis Productions, Steve Jackson Games and Green Ronin have all said their bids were unsuccessful, according to Robot Viking gameblogger Ed Grabianowski — who writes that a likely candidate is Fantasy Flight Games, which has been on an acquisition spree lately, devouring licenses such as Game of Thrones, Warhammer 40K and Lord of the Rings.
In the meantime, read Ed’s analysis — it’s a great look at what the next tabletop RPG set in the Galaxy Far, Far Away might look like (and cost). Plus, he’s a longtime friend of Nerdvana!
