Voyage Trekkers e-book novella Gambit of Chance by Craig Michael Curtis

Voyage Trekkers, the Arizona-grown sci-fi parody web series that’s been skewering the final frontier for a while now with live-action video and outstanding special effects, is boldly going where it’s never gone before: e-books.

VT novella called Gambit of Chance will be available in October. It’s being written by Craig Michale Curtis, who has written for Voyage Trekkers and its radio play, and played General Kang in the series’ seventh episode.

I love how the stoic cover art and overly vague title evoke the serious Star Trek Pocket Books of the ’80s and ’90s, while also hinting at the understated comic genius we’ve come to expect from the cooky crew of the G.S.V. Remarkable.

Here are some plot details:

The crew of the G.S.V. Remarkable are sent to a planet embroiled in political turmoil. There, each hero will find their courage tested as they risk to restore the balance. (but yes, hilarity ensues)

“Gambit of Chance” will be the first appearance of many new crew members created for Season 2 of the web series.  And because Craig is in the “inner circle” with the making of the show, he’s privy to a lot of details in the Voyage Trekkers universe that don’t always make the five minute episodes, but will help enrich the book.

Squishy Studios says Gambit of Chance will likely be sold on a “pay what you like basis,” with all proceeds directly supporting the series.
