PHOENIX – Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida opened their newest attraction: Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure, and fans waited hours to ride.
That is unless they apparated to the front (which is what I would have done).
The coaster opened on June 13 and already had a 10-hour-long wait time. A Florida source was tweeting updates on the line.
Yup, 10 hours! We hope they brought plenty of pumpkin pasties and butterbeer to keep them satisfied!
Though the line was already long, a delay due to technical difficulties (rumored to be because of lightning in the area) caused a delay that set-back the line even more. This attraction was off to a very bumpy start early that morning.
Eventually, the ride opened for the day and guests rushed to get their chance to take a spin on Hagrid’s motorbike.
Some muggle fans arrived hours before the opening of the park in order to secure a spot in line. Can we blame them? Everyone wanted a glimpse of our favorite gatekeeper in action.
Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure takes guests on a journey through the forbidden forest where they experience creatures such as three-headed dogs, centaurs, devil’s snare, and more! The vehicle of choice is, of course, a motorbike. This means the actual cart guests ride in on the coaster is shaped like a bike with a side-car. Each seat offers a different experience for every passenger.
The ride will travel as fast as 50 mph and goes both forward and backward on a mile long twisting and bumpy trip through the magical world.
Now, guests are able to download the Universal Studios app and secure a spot in line through there. That way they can continue to enjoy other attractions and head back to the line later that day when it is their turn. This feature became available for the new Hagrid coaster on June 14.
The new coaster replaced Dueling Dragons, a high-energy thrill ride that was a part of Hogsmeade in the Islands of Adventure theme park for seven years.
They had an opening celebration for the ride with guests from the original Harry Potter franchise including Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley), Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy), Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood), James and Oliver Phelps (Fred and George Weasley), and Warwick Davis (Professor Flitwick).
Would you wait that long for a ride?
