Dungeons & Dragons is literally taking a page from its own book and doing something fans of the venerable roleplaying game will cheer.
Tales From the Yawking Portal, a new 248-page hardcover, will contain seven classic D&D adventure modules spanning the game’s 43-year history, updated for its current 5th edition’s rules.
The rejuvenated scenarios represent some of the most famous D&D quests from the game’s Satanic panic heydey to more recent fare:
- The Tomb of Horrors (1978)
- White Plume Mountain (1979)
- Against the Giants (1981)
- The Hidden Shrine of Tamoachan (1981)
- The Sunless Citadel (2000)
- The Forge of Fury (2000)
- Dead in Thay (2014)
Tales From the Yawking Portal will be released March 24 at specialty game shops and April 4 in the wider market. It will feature a new cover illustration from Tyler Jacobsen depicting Durnan the Wanderer, owner of the Yawning Portal tavern in the Forgotten Realms campaign world’s city of Waterdeep.
