We haven’t seen the last character from the pre-Disney “Expanded Universe” of Star Wars novels, comics and games finding their way back into the core continuity of the Galaxy Far, Far Away.
According to Leland Chee, Lucasfilm’s “Holocron Keeper” aka continuity master:
“You wouldn’t believe some of the Legends characters that will be cropping up in various media in the coming months.”
You wouldn’t believe some of the Legends characters that will be cropping up in various media in the coming months. Hey, if Tag & Bink can show up, ANYthing is possible.

Star Wars Rebels re-introduced Legends’ Grand Admiral Thrawn in a big, big way, and later added his bodyguard Rukh — both characters created by author Timothy Zahn for Heir to the Empire, the novel that basically kick-started the expansive EU back in 1991.
After Disney bought Lucasfilm in 2012, it cleared the deck for its version of canon by rebranding the old stuff “Star Wars ‘Legends.'” One big reason, it was recently confirmed, was that the EU’s “New Jedi Order” series had killed off one of the most iconic Star Wars characters, Chewbacca — who, of course, is alive and well in the post-Return of the Jedi episodes.
With Solo: A Star Wars Story coming to the big screen in less than four months (May 25!) and little known about the characters of that film, could we see a big Legends villain resurface again? (Tag & Bink, referenced by Chee in his tweet, were comic characters in the old EU that will make an appearance in Solo, director Ron Howard revealed last year.)
