Deadline reports that Arnold Schwarzenneger is returning to the role that made him an action star in The Legend of Conan. It sounds like the film will be a direct follow-up to 1982’s Conan the Barbarian and totally ignore the 1984 sequel, Conan the Destroyer — not to mention 2011’s reboot starring Stargate Atlantis strongman Jason Momoa.
But the new film, featuring a Conan that has aged in real time, may be less sequel than reboot itself. Either way, The Legend of Conan sort of revives a hoped-for return to the role by Schwarzenegger earlier this decade for the abandoned project King Conan. Maybe.
