Padme the Zombie Slayer

pride-and-prejudice-and-zombiesNatalie Portman has joined forces with Donnie Darko creator Richard Kelly to bring the publishing sensation Pride and Prejudice and Zombies to the big screen.

Variety reports that Portman, who appeared as Senator Padme Naberrie Amidala in the Star Wars prequels, will produce and star in the Lionsgate film adapation of Seth Grahame-Smith’s best-selling, flesh-eating take on the Regency romance of Jane Austen.

A graphic novel adaptation is due next year from Del Rey, with story by Doctor Who comics writer Tony Lee and art by Buffy the Vampire Slayer artist Cliff Richards.
