It looks like you have a ton o’ freaky fun crammed into to this year’s show. What’s the “don’t miss” event to kick the festival off on Saturday?
It’s all fun and awesome! I would say the Don’t Miss event would be the Zombie Fashion Show and The Zombie Apocalypse Survival Panel Discussion, followed by the Arizona premiere of Inbred by Alex Chandon – long awaited!
Which FearCon event(s) are you most looking forward to?
Looking forward to seeing the Live Action Plants vs Zombies, I can’t imagine it wouldn’t be anything other than hilarious and I love the Zombie Fashion Show – I’m really anxious to see our new Hostess with the Mostess “Becky B” take on her role as the Joan Rivers of Horror – that is something to look forward to.
I think they’re all full up at the moment, but always room for next year!
Which films are you most excited to showcase this year?
We were really impressed with the films we have selected this year. And we’re very excited about Inbred by Alex Chandon; we’d been hearing rumblings about it for a couple of years and we’re thrilled that the director wanted to showcase its Arizona premiere at our event.
What can you tell us about your vendors at this year’s event?
There are Amazing vendors this year, many fine artists, schools, charities including Shanti’s 2nd Chances who help folks with HIV/AIDS, Studio Hadra and his graphic novels, Victor Moreno and his awesome caricatures, Tom Deadstuff and his er… dead stuff made from recycled OTB [Off Track Betting] tickets, Custom Funeral Cars by KAOS, Custom Coffins, zombie cupcakes by Kiki’s, Jewelry designers, Dept. of Zombie Defense stuff, Deadly Delias Zombie Hunter models and so many more. You have to come to the FearCon and see for yourself.
Is local horror host(ess) Becky B going to be the MC for the entire show?
Becky B will be there for photo ops at the FearCon Wall, she’ll be interviewing folks on camera with her razor sharp wit and banter and she will be the MC for the Zombie Fashion Show – that’s something to see.
People love to come to FearCon in costume. What’s the craziest outfit you’ve seen?
Last year we had a life size Gargoyle and an eye popping Steampunk[er] that was fabulous!
Do contestants need to sign-up in advance for the Costume/Scream Contest?
Contestants will have the opportunity to sign up for the Costume/Scream Contest at the event. There will be a sign up board with the Volunteers at the Will Call area.
