Niswander not attending CopperCon 31

Adam NiswanderLocal horror and fantasy author Adam Niswander has had to bow out of this year’s CopperCon, scheduled for Sept. 2-5 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Avondale.

Niswander, a longtime member of the Central Arizona Speculative Fiction Society (CASFS) that sponsors the convention each year, was set to be a judge in CopperCon 31’s short story contest. He is the author of The Shaman Cycle series, The Sand Dwellers and The Repository.

Other CopperCon guests this year include Carrie Vaughan (the Kitty Norville series, Voices of Dragons, Discord’s Apple) and local author Janni Lee Simner (Bones of Faerie, Thief Eyes, Secret of the Three Treasures). Other program highlights include live-action RPGs, a masquerade contest, the dealer room, filk singing, art and writing workshops for kids and dozens of discussion panels relating to writing, literature, film, science and more.

Registration is $35 for the weekend until April 30. Children ages 7-12 are half-price and children 6 and younger are admitted free.
