If you’re looking for something to do this weekend, local fantasy author and RPG designer Todd VanHooser has put together an event “to introduce a new generation to the sci-fi, fantasy, comic book, and gaming convention scene.”

Taking place 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday at Desert Edge High School, 15778 W. Yuma Rd., Goodyear, LaughingMoonCon has a “story tellers” theme. An all-day badge costs only $5, and proceeds will be donated toward extra-curricular activities for the school’s students.

Guest speakers include horror author Darryl Dawson, belly dancer Rainnah Rayes, paranormal investigator and writer Debe Branning, comic-book illustrator April Grady-Reyna and game designer John Wick. Also appearing will be the Arizona Avengers and the Dune Sea Garrison of the 501st Legion, costuming and charity organizations centered around Star Wars and Marvel Comics fandom, as well as the A-Team van and Knight Rider’s K.I.T.T.
