In his acceptance speech for the award for best short-form dramatic presentation at the Hugo Awards on Sunday night for his “The Doctor’s Wife” episode of Doctor Who, sci-fi and fantasy author Neil Gaiman dropped the news that he’s working on a second script for the long-running British sci-fi TV drama.
“Only a fool or a mad man would try to do it again . . . so I’m on the third draft,” Gaiman said.
Doctor Who just started its seventh season on BBC One in the UK and BBC America in the U.S. io9’s Charlie Jane Anders (herself a Hugo winner, for best novelette) caught up with Gaiman and learned that the episode could air as early as spring 2013, when the second half of this season is slated to air.
