LepreCon, Arizona’s annual sci-fi and fantasy convention emphasizing the role of art in the genres, returns April 6-8 at the Tempe Mission Palms.
For LepreCon 38, Stephen Furst (pictured), known for his role as principled Centauri ambassadorial aide Vir Cotto on Babylon 5, is the media guest of honor. Other guests of honor include the superhero comics artist Franchesco and Hugo Award-winning author Joe Haldeman (The Forever War).
The con’s local artist guest of honor is the multifaceted Mark Greenawalt, with music guests Jeff and Maya Bohnhoff, who focus on “filk” and parody music, and gaming guest Todd VanHooser, a Valley writer whose fantasy roleplaying game based on his own Adventures Under the Laughing Moon has been making waves locally as well as globally since it became available at online retailer DriveThruRPG.com.
In addition to the great guests, dealers room and art show, there will be tons of fascinating panels as well as organized gaming.
LepreCon memberships cost $40 for adults through March 31, with ages 6 and younger admitted for free with a paid adult and ages 7 to 12 admitted for $15 with a paid adult. A weekend, gaming-only memberships costs just $25.
