Today Warner Bros. Pictures, New Line Cinema and MGM celebrated Tolkien Week (and the Sept. 22 Hobbit Day, the birthday of halfling heroes Bilbo and Frodo Baggins) by releasing the new trailer for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, the first installment of Peter Jackson’s trilogy based on J.R.R. Tolkien’s children’s fantasy classic that debuts in theaters Dec. 14.
