First look at German CGI animated Tarzan film

Classic Dungeons & Dragons back in print! - Available now @ Dungeon Masters Guild

German film studio Constantin Film (the studio responsible for the Resident Evil film series) has released the first trailer for its CGI animated take on the classic Edgar Rice Burroughs Tarzan tale. The story sounds like it has been updated to address modern environmental issues (a la Avatar) and it stars the performance capture and voice talent of Kellan Lutz (Emmett Cullen from The Twilight Saga) as Tarzan and Spencer Locke (Resident Evil: Afterlife) as Jane.

Tarzan 3D is currently scheduled to be released in the summer of 2013 and this looks like it could have potential to be a pretty good ape-man movie — but as it appears to have sprung out of nowhere and I can find no evidence that it has been sanctioned by the Burroughs estate. Who knows if this film will ever actually be seen on the big screen by American audiences? Keeping my fingers crossed.
