Time-travel historical romance author — and former comic book scribe — Diana Gabaldon will sign her latest work The Exile, a graphic novel installment of her popular “Outlander” series, 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts, 7380 E. Second St.
The event will be held in the center’s Virginia G. Piper Theater and costs $30, which includes an autographed copy of The Exile. One companion ticket can be purchased for $5.
The event also includes a visual presentation and commentary by the book’s artist, Hoang Nguyen.
Gabaldon, an Arizona native, is working on a contemporary mystery series set in Phoenix. Although The Exile is her first graphic novel, it’s also a return to her roots writing comic books for Gold Key such as Uncle Scrooge.

Editor’s note: In Sunday’s print edition of the East Valley Tribune, the Get Out events calendar incorrectly said the Diana Gabaldon book signing and The Exile launch party were free.
